Apple Sauce Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 3 ½ cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ⅔ cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ½ cups apple sauce unsweetened
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 4 tsp baking soda

Instructions
 

  • Cream shortening and sugar; add beaten eggs, then the apple sauce.
  • Sift dry ingredients and add to batter.  Sprinkle nuts and raisins with a little flour.  Add to batter.
  • Bake in loaf pan about 45 minutes in moderate 350o oven.
