Rob's Baked Beans

Rob Loethen
I created these in an attempt to copy Hickory Pit BBQ's beans.  It's note quite the same, but very good!
Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour 20 minutes
Servings 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 53 ounces pork & beans partially drained
  • 1 cup chopped brisket
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp minced onion
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 cup K.C. Masterpiece barbecue sauce
  • ¼ cup sorghum
  • ¼ cup brisket au jus without fat

Instructions

  • Drain some (not all) of the juice off the beans. If cooking in the oven for a long time, keep all juice. If using a crock pot, then drain about half the juice off.
  • Cook bacon just to remove grease Combine rest of ingredients Add the bacon and put in large baking dish Bake uncovered in 325 degree oven 60-75min.
  • You may also cook in a crock pot on low for 6-8 hours.

Notes

Very similar to Hickory Pit's beans.
