John and Wanda Anderson
Course Condiment
Servings 0

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon blackberries (1/2 red and 1/2 ripe)
  • 1 cup water
  • sugar

Instructions

  • Cook blackberries in water until all juice is out of the berries.  Strain and measure juice and leave on stove where it will stay hot, but not to boil.
  • To each cup of juice, add 2 cups sugar, and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Pour into sterilized glass jars and seal.

Notes

Jelly does not sugar and it tastes fresh when opened.  The recipe comes from Wanda's Grandma Minnie (Ruble).
