Cherry Cake Cobbler
Ingredients
- 1 box Duncan Hines White cake mix
- 1 ¼ cups water
- 3 eggs
- ⅓ cup oil
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 Tbs cornstarch
- 32 ounces pitted red tart cherries undrained
- 2 Tbs butter or margarine melted
- ½ tsp red food coloring
- ¾ tsp almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Grease and flour 9x13-inch pan.
- Prepare cake batter as directed on back panel. Pour evenly into pan.
- Combine sugar and cornstarch in bowl.
- Add cherries and juice, melted butter or margarine, food coloring and almond extract; stir well.
- Spoon evenly over batter.
- Bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until golden.
- Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired
