Cranberry Cake with Butter Sauce
Ingredients
- 3 Tbs butter
- ½ cup evaporated milk
- 2 cups flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 2 cups fresh cranberries halved
- 1 cup nuts
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
Sauce
- ¾ cup butter
- 1 ½ Tbs flour
- ¾ cup half & half
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla
- red food coloring
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar, add milk and water.
- Add dry ingredients and mix well.
- Fold in cranberries and nuts.
- Spread into a 9x13-inch greased pan and bake for 30 minutes or until done at 350°. Check with toothpick.
Sauce
- Mix sauce ingredients and cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Tint pinkish and serve warm by spooning sauce over each piece of cake as served.
