Missouri Black Walnut and Kentucky Bourbon Pie
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar divided
- 4 Tbs cornstarch
- 5 Tbs bourbon
- ½ cup butter melted
- 1 ¼ cups chopped black walnuts (or English walnuts)
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
Instructions
- Beat eggs with 3/4 cup sugar.
- Mix remaining 1/2 cup sugar with cornstarch; add to egg mixture.
- Fold in bourbon, butter, walnuts and chocolate chips. Pour filling into unbaked 9-inch pie shell.
- Bake in preheated 375° oven for 15 minutes.
- Reduce oven temperature to 325°; bake 15 minutes, or until filling is set and crust is golden.
