Nine-Layer Chicken Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 9 slices bread with crusts removed
  • 5 cups cooked chicken diced
  • 4 oz canned mushrooms
  • 16 oz water chestnuts sliced
  • ½ cup Miracle Whip
  • 9 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup undiluted
  • 1 can cream of celery soup undiluted
  • buttered bread crumbs

Instructions
 

  • Put bread slices in bottom of 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.
  • Add chicken.
  • Top with the following in order: mushrooms, water chestnuts, Miracle Whip, and cheddar cheese.
  • Combine beaten eggs, milk and salt. Pour over layers.
  • Next, spoon the soups over and top with buttered bread crumbs.
  • Bake in 350° oven for 1 hour or longer.
