Instructions
Combine dates, baking soda and shortening or margarine.
Add 1 cup hot water to mixture, and let cool.
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Bake at 350° oven about 30 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
Notes
We use to have this at every Christmas gathering. Don't know why we stopped. I remember Don Stovall hated it.
