I remember grandma making this candy just before Christmas. It tasted like heaven. She also made a variation where she added chocolate chips just before pouring it into the pan, and swirling the chocolate into the divinity.

- 4 cups sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 3 egg whites
- 1 cup nuts optional
Mix first three ingredients. Heat to soft ball stage.
Beat egg whites to stiff peak.
Slowly pour one half of sugar mixture (at soft ball stage) over the egg whites.
Cook remaining sugar to hard ball stage.
Pour over egg mixture and beat until thick.
Add nuts.
Pour onto platter and let cool.
