Hamburgers from Prague

Ingredients 

  • 1 medium onion quartered
  • 3 slices bread
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • ½ tsp salt
  • tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbs green parsley chopped (optional)
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 3 Tbs bacon drippings

Instructions

  • Combine onion, bread, egg and milk in a blender.
  • Add mixture to the meat and mix well.
  • Season with salt, pepper and parsley.
  • Form 8 burgers.
  • Roll in bread crumbs.
  • Fry in hot bacon drippings on medium high heat until golden brown.
  • Place in 325° oven for 15 minutes.

Notes

This is a recipe from a German friend. I serve the hamburgers with the Golden Potato Wedges.
