Meat Balls & Spaghetti

Ingredients 

  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 Tbs fat
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbs sugar
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 sprig parsley chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 eggs well beaten
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces spaghetti

Instructions

  • Brown onion in hot fat; add tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and seasoning.
  • Cook slowly one hour.
  • Combine remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly.
  • Form in small balls; brown in hot fat.
  • Add to sauce and cook over low heat 15 minutes.

Notes

Sue Alexander's spaghetti and meat balls.  "Georgia, if I'm in a hurry I only add 1 cup of water and don't cook the sauce as long and I use parsley flakes instead of the other."
