Microwave Caramel Corn

Ingredients 

  • 5 quarts popped popcorn
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  • Cook sugar, margarine, syrup and salt in microwave until it begins to bubble. Cook in microwave another 30 seconds. Add baking soda and vanilla and stir until foamy.
  • Put popcorn in brown paper bag. Pour hot syrup over corn and stir well. Close bag and shake. Microwave for 2 minutes, shake bag, and microwave another 2 minutes. Pour out onto flat pan to cool.
