Ingredients

cucumbers

Alum

tsp
dill
clove
garlic

cup
pickling salt
¼
cup
vinegar

water
Instructions
Wash whole cucumbers and pack into quart jars.
In each jar, add 1/4 tsp alum, 1/4 tsp dilll and a clove of garlic.
Combine the pickling salt, vinegar, and water. Bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers. Wipe lip of jars, heat canning flats and seal as usual.
Set in sun for two weeks, then store in dark place until used.
Notes
I have found it works to slice cucumbers lengthwise and pack into jars. These are good garlic dill pickles.
