Turtle Cake

Ingredients 

  • 1 German Chocolate cake mix
  • 14 ounces Kraft caramels
  • ¾ cup margarine
  • ½ cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans
  • whipped cream

Instructions

  • Prepare the cake mix according to directions.  Pour 1/2 of the batter into a greased 9x13 pan.  Bake for 15 minutes at 350o.
  • Melt in pan caramels, margarine, and evaporated milk.  Mix well and pour over baked cake.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over top.
  • Pour remaining cake batter over top and bake 20-25 minutes.
  • Serve with whipped cream or frost with a milk chocolate frosting.
