Prepare the cake mix according to directions. Pour 1/2 of the batter into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake for 15 minutes at 350o.
Melt in pan caramels, margarine, and evaporated milk. Mix well and pour over baked cake.
Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over top.
Pour remaining cake batter over top and bake 20-25 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream or frost with a milk chocolate frosting.
