Dilly Bread
Ingredients
- 1 small carton cottage cheese at room temperature
- 4 Tbs sugar
- 2 Tbs dehydrated onion flakes
- 2 Tbs butter
- 2 Tbs dill seed
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ tsp soda
- 2 eggs beaten
- 2 pkgs yeast
- ½ cup warm water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 ½ cups flour
- butter
- salt
Instructions
- Mix first 8 ingredients together.
- Soften yeast in warm water.
- Add cottage cheese mixture to yeast mixture. Add flour. Mix well. Cover and let rise 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
- Stir down and let rise until double.
- Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes. Cover with foil for the last 15 minutes.
- Rub with butter and sprinkle with salt when bread comes out of oven.
Notes
May bake ahead and freeze.
